Hello and welcome to the Namless Awards for the half-way point of 2001. Yes, this is the first year of these awards, and yes...uh...inset statement that will get reader's attention here. Simply stated, these awards are for the best of what has been released so far this year, and they have a scoring system that is a hybrid of the IFZZTEA and the Hoodians. Have I caught your interest yet? Well, go on and read more about this contest then.
Procedure: How it Works
These are the guidelines for how the contest is going to be run. It will be take three easy
steps...yay.
Only games released in the first half of 2001 can be nominated.
Each judge will first nominate one to three games/zzters for each category and submit
them to the council chairman (wayward) to be recorded. Judges are allowed to obstain from nominating for particular categories, but are not allowed to nominate their own games.
Nominees will be announced. Everyone (judges and zzters) will have one week the
vote for awards. Judges and zzters are allowed to obstain from particular categories.
After one week has passed, the votes will be tallied and an award ceremony will be held on
#LoungeAct most likely. Judges and zzters are allowed to vote for their own games. Joke voting and multiple voting will not be tolerated. If you are caught doing it, none of your votes cout (this goes for judges too, though it shouldn't be a problem.)
The Scoring System
This is the scoring system for how votes will be accumulated and how the winner will be
decided.
Judges will rank each of the nominees from 1st to 5th place (first receiving 15 points,
second receiving 10 points , third recieving 6 points, fourth recieving 3 points, and fifth recieving 1 point.) Any other games will get no points. Categories that have less than five games in them will be handled as if they did. If there are only four categories for instance, the lower score a game could get from a judge is 3.
The scores for each game/zzter in each category will be totaled and ranked according to percentage of points of out possible points to be earned.
Zzters will vote for one, and only one game/zzter for each category.
All of the votes from zzters will be accumulated (1 vote equals 1 vote, whether newbie, oldbie, or whatnot) and games will be ranked according to percentage of votes earned.
Each game's judge rank and zzter score will be averaged, with the highest average winning. For example, if a game gets a judge score of 40.000 and a zzter score of 20.000, then the final score will be a 30.000. Any ties will be broken by the judge's rank, primairly because the judges rank more than one game, whereas zzters are allowed to vote for only one game.
Winners win, gloat, and take a bow. Others look at them in envy, admiration, or surprise. Rinse, and repeat.
